Simply Cakes By Caroline – Terms & Conditions

All sales made by Simply Cakes are subject to the following terms and conditions. Nothing contained within these terms and conditions affects your statutory rights as a consumer. Please read carefully and if you do not understand anything please do not hesitate to ask.

Cake Prices & Ordering

The price for the order will be confirmed at the time of booking. An email will be sent confirming all the details which you will need to confirm you have received. All orders require a non-refundable and non-transferable deposit of 50% of the total cost. All deposits become due when the order has been placed and details checked on the email. All orders are deemed to have been accepted only when a deposit is paid.

Payments for Cake Orders

Payments may be made by:
Current Account Cheque (this will only be accepted if I have at least 14 working days to clear it)
Cash
Bank Transfer

Final payments

Final payments are made on collection of the cake by cash only.

Alterations to orders

Your cake is very important to me. Please take time to check your email carefully and let me know immediately if changes are needed. It is your responsibility to advise the company of any alterations to the original order. Simply cakes reserves the right to increase a quoted fee in the event the customer requests a variation to the work agreed. Whilst every effort will be made to assist customers, please note that no changes can be made 7 days before cake collection.

Collection of Cake orders

Your order may be collected from 56 Bracken Close, Mirfield, WF14 0HA at a pre-arranged time, which will be included in your confirmation email. Please be aware that once you have collected the cake and left the premises you are responsible for any issues that occur to the cake from this point forward. You will have to sign a confirmation form on collection to verify you have accepted these terms and conditions

Cancellation of Cake Orders

As your cake is reserved solely for you and certain components for your cake will be ordered weeks in advance, if you chose to cancel your order you will lose your non-refundable deposit.

Cake Expiry

My cakes are freshly produced, and we don’t use any artificial additives therefore all my cakes need to be consumed as below
Cakes – It is recommended that you consume the cake within 3 days of collection.
Cupcakes – It is recommended that you consume the cupcakes within 1 day of collection.

Cake Design

Our cakes are handmade and therefore will allow a small percentage of imperfections within our standards and tolerances. I don’t give refunds for reasons such as slight deviations, imperfections, or personal taste dislikes. I don’t take any responsibilities for damages made by the kitchen venue or guest of the events.
All our cake toppers and models (e.g. figures) are made from Sugar. They are made for the purpose of cake decoration and not designed to be kept for a long period of time. In some circumstances they will be anchored to the cake in such a way that they can’t be removed in one piece. If toppers or decorations break on removal I can’t be held accountable
All references such as the internet, books and TV are used as a guideline. Due to the bespoke nature of baking and copyright issues, we don’t guarantee 100% likeness.
I reserve the right to take, store and publish photos of customer cake designs in my digital channels (Facebook, Website). I will never publish your details with any cake images or photos.
Some cakes (for example Chocolate or fruit cake) require a sharp knife, to cut cleanly thru the cake. We recommend wiping the blade after every cut, to ensure a good quality clean cut. We are not accountable for any damage during serving and cutting.

Allergies

Please be aware that whilst your chosen cake may not be made with nuts or a nut product, it will be prepared in a kitchen where nut products may be used in other cakes and fillings. Raw materials used may not be free from dairy, wheat and gluten. Allergy information is provided with all cake orders.
All allergy information must be provided when placing the cake order.

Complaints

Every cake goes through my quality control process which involves, slicing, taste and a texture testing. If for some reason you feel your cake has a fault, please report the issue to me in writing within 3 days by email. Please attach photos if necessary. I will respond promptly to your issue.
